[quote]Low self esteem. They wíll flood the person mind with such thoughts that they are worthless etc… and the person having low self esteem believes it and goes into deep emotional pain beating themselves up, all the while the cretin is sucking off the negative energy. If you don’t recognise what is happening they can cause suicide. This is not like depression, but it feels like depression…

Bingo! I think that for people who suffer abuse and a host of other ills, are, in fact, dealing with negative spírits feeding off our sadness and confusion, etc. My stepmother set me straight. She could tell the moment I opened my mouth if I was in poor spírits. Over the years she repeatedly warned me of negative spírits and that, coupled with various readings, finally sunk in. So I have implemented a three day rule. Wallow in self-pity all I want for three days, but by the fourth day, a solution has to be sought. I dropped it for a while, but have decided it was a rule that worked and have now put it back into practice. So, I have to remember that negative spírits are sitting around waiting for a chance to cause mayhem, and I'm just not going to stand by and allow that to happen.

Now, the past life lovers--good point you made. How does one know it's not actually a negative spírit running a Hestia on us. We don't so beware. BTW, that Divine Encounters book and story sounds awfúlly familiar. Might that be Doreen Virtue's book?

Here are some masculíne takes on the succubus side of the story. Note that most of the men commentors think that female pervert spírits are just grand. :Shakes Head:
