Kidnapped women Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight 's first day of freedom

THE three women who disappeared a decade ago in Cleveland are enjoying their first day of freedom after being released from hospital.

Metro Health Medical Centre says all three were released on Tuesday morning at about 8am (10pm AEST).

The three, Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight , who went missing separately about a decade ago, were found Monday in a home just south of downtown and likely had been tied up during years of captivity, said police, who arrested three brothers.

Cleveland police Deputy Chief Ed Tomba said on Tuesday that Ms Berry said that a six-year-old girl found at the residence is her daughter who she gave birth to while in captivity.

In a frantic call to 911, Ms Berry, who escaped the house with the help of a neighbour, told the dispatcher, "I'm free now."

Heartwarming: Sisters reunited after a decade

In a bizarre twist the son of suspect Ariel Castro, wrote a journalism piece in 2004 as a student on the disappearance of Ms DeJesus.  It is not believed that Ariel "Anthony" Castro knew she was locked up in his father's house.

Abducted women Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michele Knight found alive in Cleveland home

Amanda Berry

THIS is the heartwarming moment kidnapping victim Amanda Berry was reunited with her sister after a decade of imprisonment.

In the photograph, released by Cleveland TV station WOIO, the sisters are pictured with the little girl believed to be the daughter Berry gave birth to while she was held captive.

Berry disappeared in 2003 from a busy block in Cleveland at the age of 16. Her devastated sister, Beth Serrano, never gave up hope that she would be found alive.

Their mother died at the age of 44 in 2006 after her daughter's disappearance took a terrible toll on her health.
