I guess that means it's sad for the planet then. This nation has always had such a broad influence.

America has had a big influence on Australia, but not everyone likes Americans.  We were at a shopping center years ago, and hubby got in line, the shop was packed and there were so many lines at the checkouts..... and hubby didn't realise that he got into a line for another checkout... half way along it..... he thought he was getting at the end of a line at the next checkout... that is how busy the supermarket was with everyone doing last minute shopping at Christmas.  Next thing this big guy starts abusing my husband and when he heard my husbands accent he straight off started yelling, you B..B Americans, you think you can do what you like, and come here.... blah, blah.... we were in shock as this man was so big and muscly looking.... my husband stood right up to him and took him by surprise.... even took me by surprise.  Everyone was staring at us.... anyway this man was standing at the door as we were leaving and we were expecting more and I was worried, and to our surprise he apologised.  We all get a bit stressed at Christmas.... but he sure made his inner feelings for Americans known.
I have wondered why a lot of people in Aust don't like Americans and I think its due to all the pyramid sales and scams that came out of America in the early days, and still many coming out of America today.
