Yes, I have it. As well as Adblock Plus, and a Hosts file that's many times the size of the original file. So I have no problems with the ads themselves, but I have nothing that can deal with some of the scripts they run. The script issue has been the primary problem with ads since before the Internet went ad happy. Almost every company that develops ads has been fined for this multiple times, as well as any of the clients that the FCC could collar along with them. The problem is that (get this) they violate your privacy. A little hypocrisy at work here? They have zero problems installing applications on your computer that not only track you and phone home, but they change your settings as well. Your home page, security settings .............. anything that gets in the way of what they're trying to accomplish, they will change. When they do this to somebody who's tech savvy like myself, who's intolerant enough to file a complaint (which I don't), they get caught. And they treat it like getting a traffic ticket.

Nearly everybody has things on their computer they don't want seen, and this stops them from filing a complaint, because the FCC will need to access it to catch the ad company. The ad companies count on this. Why report an ad violation if it means you will get caught for something? And now we have the specter of the NSA using your good citizen action as an opportunity to dig through all of your personal files. Am I giving you a visual yet? It creates problems for you to file a complaint, so why do it?

Some of us have taken the time to bolt down our settings. This is why we have problems when other people don't. A script that's trying to change a setting on your machine but can't, will tie up system resources. In case you're wondering, yes, this satisfies the definition of a virus. A virus is an application that does something to your system that you don't want done. It doesn't have to be destructive, just invasive. Like a certain agency we know about. Is this a sign of them at work? Possibly, but probably not. In my case, watching me for a matter of hours would reveal a person who would do anything they could to stop NSA illegal activities, yet is a very patriotic American, none the less. Not exactly the type of person they are looking for, under their definition, or Snowden's. I don't fit either of those profiles, and neither does anybody here. One of the advertisers on this site is more aggressive than most, that's all. But can it ever tick you off, when they run such an aggressive script. I wonder what setting I have locked down that nobody else does?

For what it's worth, I discovered yesterday that if I ran the ultra porous Internet Explorer, I encountered no problems. Do you find that information interesting?

Aside from it causing me to make a post that wasn't exactly clear as I would have liked, it caused me no problems. But IE may have allowed it to change that setting, because all is fine now.
