That's a good deduction, but he failed to look far enough. Ink is a huge scam. I thought everyone knew that you can wander down to your local Wal Mart, and always find one printer that costs less than $30. Complete with one black, and one color ink cartridge. When you go to buy the ink, it costs more than $30 for a single cartridge.

It's a good catch though, and one I hadn't thought of. I'm sure that kids would do fine with dot matrix printers that use a ribbon. I would like to have one myself, for that very reason. Why that school doesn't use laser printers is beyond me, as a network laser is usually good for 10k copies on a single toner. I imagine that art class requires a printer with those capabilities, but if my opinion is worth anything, middle school students don't need to be using computers in the first place. It prevents the kids from learning the basics, and is a huge waste of money as well. Kids can learn to use a computer in high school, after they have learned math basics, how to spell, and proper English. They are teaching children how to be a basket case when the power goes out. And costing the taxpayers a fortune for the laziness of the teachers as well apparently.
