We'll see, but I sense another attempt at shocking people. Those research dollars must be really getting spread thin.

I agree with you..... just another attempt at shocking people.   I read an article years ago from studies of rock strata that a magnetic pole reversal takes literally hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of years....  Its a slow process so this saying it could flip in an instant is rubbish and fear mongering.
