Before it was a Fedex delívery man and another was an UPS delívery man, now here is one from the postal service! My goodess! Over here if the delívery person cannot get to the door because of a locked gate, or the person is not home, they simply take the parcel back to their warehouse and leave a card for the person to let them know their parcel was waiting for them to collect it from their premises. Doesn't this happen in the US?
Careless delívery man hurls package
[quote]A US postal worker has been caught flinging a fragile package over a gate after finding it locked.
Security footage shows the Los Angeles delívery man try to open the gate before hurling the box, containing an antique cuckoo clock, over the fence in North Hollywood on Tuesday.
The package travels several metres through the air before landing in owner Michael Oreb's front yard.
Mr Oreb said he had tracked delívery of his 1938 German black forest cuckoo clock from Pennsylvania to North Hollywood and was shocked when he saw the delívery.
"I looked up and he pulled up, threw it over the fence and then got in the van and drove off," Mr Oreb told NBC Los Angeles.
Mr Oreb said he guessed the clock had been damaged because of how far it was thrown.
"The chains no longer work, I guess they're jammed up in the back and one of them is off the rails, and the second hand is catawampus, it's loose," he said.
Mr Oreb said he immediately called the United States Postal Service (USPS) and a company representative came to his house in 10 minutes.
USPS released a statement saying it was dismayed to see the video and was investigating the matter to determine the appropriate actions to be taken with regards to the employee and customer.
Mr Oreb said he plans to have the clock repaired and send the postal company the bill, but doesn't think the delívery man should be fired.
