Again. Oh yes. Every tool I have shows this site to originate in America:
http://neurobollocks.wordpress.com/category/brain-training/
But it's quite obvious to anybody who understands nationalities that this is a British site. Considering their mission statement, which they list immediately below the title of the site, I find the deception curious:
"Debunking pseudo neuroscience so you don't have to"
It kind of jumps right out and screams at you, does it not? In my opinion, translation would read:
"Methinks thou doest protest too much"
For a site claiming to be so knowledgeable, they try to deliver a lot of credibility to afflictions that are now under suspicion by professionals. And common folk have come to realize are bulls**t catch all categories. Like ADHD for example. Some psychiatrists now admit that this disorder is nothing more than a catch all for rebellious children, so that schools will have the right to demand they be placed on chemical restraints (behavior controlling psychoactive drugs) if their parents want them to remain in school. Translation is that this catch all category gives schools the right to make little Johny think the way they want him to. Otherwise, it is perfectly legal for Johny to never learn to read or write. One serious handicap in today's world.
So is it any surprise for a site that supports such a Draconian concept to attack every form of IQ manipulation like this? Now I'm not familiar with the brain training schemes they're attacking here. But I do know that it has been well known for a long time that IQ's can be manipulated to a serious degree. This site implies that it is not possible at all. This is obviously a well funded site. So the obvious question is why? What's their problems with the concept? And why the deception about the origin of the site? Anybody have any ideas?
