‘Active shooter’ on US military post Fort Hood, the target of a mass shooting in November 2009
A SHOOTER who killed as many as four people in a violent rampage at a US military base is believed to be dead, officials said.
At least 14 people were wounded during the attack at the Fort Hood installation in Texas -- the same location as a 2009 mass shooting where a soldier killed 13 people.
The identity of the shooter was not immediately known although some news services identified him as a 34-year-old military specialist.
Authorities said in a statement: “Fort Hood’s Directorate of Emergency Services has an initial report that a shooter is dead but this is unconfirmed.”
